Has completed both the Royal Court Young Writers' Programme and the Soho Theatre's Young Writers' Course and THIN TOES is her first full-length play. Her other writing for theatre includes the one-act plays ALL THINGS MEND and SHE BROUGHT FLOWERS (Warwick University). Laura works at the BBC and is currently writing her second play, COMING UP FOR AIR, and a short film script THE FIRST MILLENNIUM.

THIN TOES was developed with the assistance of Suzanne Bell, an Ensemble Associate of WHen. who is currently Literary Manager of the Everyman Playhouse, Liverpool.

'Thin Toes is not only excellently performed, designed and directed, it also succeeds in drawing attention to a very real and prevalent issue in the western world without becoming sanctimonious or sensational...Laura Stevens writing is very tight with no superfluous dialogue or over-familiar scenes, and director Julia Stubbs's influence keeps the production pacy...I would absolutely recommend this production to others and anticipate a revival in a larger theatre soon.'
Extra Extra

'Director Julia Stubbs has imaginatively staged the play in a specially adapted space, which has been decorated by designer Georgia Lowe to look like an art gallery. This effectively draws in the audience and also provides a suitably intimate playing space...The acting is excellent: Helen Millar's stroppy Andrea contrasts perfectly with Elizabeth Bichard's naive and needy Lucy, while Camilla Simson's Meg is a convincing mix of aggression and failure...Lura Stevens' thought-provoking debut...is both familiar and undeniably moving.'
The Stage

'...the relationship between a narcissistic artist, her prodigious daughter and her best friend provides the canvas for a delicate portrait of three damaged women.'
Time Out

'I say keep your eye out for more from this talented playwright'
