Bloom
by Peter Elkins
"Every
day I’m surprising myself. What I’m capable of.
What will maybe move me that hasn’t moved me before."
Dan
wants to create something beautiful. Jude provides the spark.
But as Jude rises to the challenge, the results surprise them
both.

Has written two plays: JUDITH BLOOM and APRIL MAY. APRIL MAY
won the 2003 Soho Theatre Westminster Prize and was performed
in Soho in June.
'Rebecca
Manson Jones' nuanced and sensitive production... Judith Bloom
is strangely moving. Elkin's understated dissection of love
as obsession is conducted with impressive even-handedness,
and Marcus Hamer's beautifully watchful performance as Dan
makes a fine counterpoint to Dakin, who, intriguingly, catches
an engimatic independence of mind in Jude's fragility... an
absorbing debut.'
What's On
'A
playwright who shows characters falling in love is taking
a risk.... Peter Elkins does so in his funny and touching
play.... Very little happens in the play, a sure sign of the
confidence in the writer. This absorbing and and beautifully
staged show proves that confidence is fully justified.'
